Founder & Chairman
Jacques studied Medicine at the University of Geneva, where he graduated as a Doctor of Medicine with the highest honours. During his studies he published numbers of articles, which earned him the Prize for Therapeutic and Neurological Sciences from the Swiss Academy of Medicine. After general professional training in various postgraduate Swiss, French and Dutch teaching hospitals, he was awarded a prestigious MRC Clinical Training Fellowship at Hopitaux Universitaires de Geneve, completing his PhD in 1982. During the years he spent working at European hospitals, he observed that there were often severe shortages of fully qualified, high calibre medical practitioners.
Jaques’ insight into the needs of both hospitals and doctors, and established professional network put him in the unique position to set up one of the first fully dedicated medical recruitment agencies in Europe. Together with his colleague Jeroen van den Broek he founded MedicumSearch in 1984.
In addition to recruiting mandates, Jacques has successfully concluded many consulting projects in areas such as employee satisfaction surveys, salary surveys and candidate/key skill database design. He has spoken at conferences across Europe on medical recruitment and selection issues.
Jacques is now focused on the international expansion of MedicumSearch, splitting his time between work and family.
